Our wildcats checked out 18,269 books in 2009!

The LWMS library housed 8,559 books when inventoried in May of 2009. The library also circulates approximately 1000 curricular audiovisual tapes and DVD's, 17 magazines, the Tuscaloosa News, and the Northport Gazette. Students and teachers checked out 18,269 items in Fiscal Year 2009, or about 34 items per student. Nine computers are available for student use. These computers have software to browse the library’s collection, take Accelerated Reader tests, assess a student’s reading level using the STAR reading program, or to utilize word processing or Power Point software. Students may access the Alabama Virtual Library or filtered internet sites by returning a signed internet usage permission form.
